Ingredients

  • 12 oz BBQ sauce 1 bottle, such as Sweet Baby Ray's

  • 6 hoagie rolls for serving
  • red onion, tomato, avocado optional toppings

Method

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, Italian dressing, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
  2. Pour the sauce over the chicken breasts and toss so every side is coated.
  3. Transfer the chicken and sauce to the crockpot and cook on LOW for 4 hours 30 minutes.
  4. Remove the chicken from the sauce and shred it with two forks.
  5. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker, stir it into the sauce and keep on WARM until ready to serve.
  6. Pull some of the bread out of the inside of each hoagie roll to make a pocket, pile in the chicken and add any toppings you like.

Notes

Skip the roll and turn the chicken into a BBQ chicken salad or burrito. Great with chunky potato salad.
