I know the majority of us will be taking the day off from cooking (and our other responsibilities because, hey, we need to milk this one day a year for all it’s worth!), but there are a few of us who will be cooking for our moms.

Easy Recipes for Mother’s Day Brunch That Mom Will Love

There might even be some of us, myself included, who actually LIKE to cook and envision the perfect day as one in our kitchen where we are free to experiment and create however we see fit. It’s the one day a year when we can pick what we like to eat and where we want to eat it! So, just in case you need a little cooking inspiration for your beloved Mommy or you want to make yourself a delicious homemade treat, I have 9 easy recipes for Mother’s Day brunch that are sure to wow anybody who eats them. All these recipes are simple, delicious, and total Mom-food.

Main Dishes

Cheesy Ham & Spinach Quiche

Quiche is totally Mom-food. I feel like every time I go to a baby shower (which is the epitome of a Mom event), there seems to be some type of quiche at the refreshment table. Maybe it’s because it is easy to make and transport to an event.

Maybe it’s because you can throw all sorts of meat and vegetables inside, and it comes out perfectly. So, let’s face it, quiche is delicious and smart. Moms aren’t dumb, and they love delicious things, so if you make her this quiche, you’ll have quite the happy Mommy!

Easy Clean-up Oven Cooked Bacon

What is a brunch without bacon? This easy recipe has crispy, salty strips of bacon on your plate in 15 minutes or less! The best part is the easy clean-up. On Mother’s Day, you want to spend time with Mama, not slaving away in the kitchen. Give it a try and see her face light up!

Shredded Hashbrown Cheesy Potatoes

ThisĀ hashbrown casseroleĀ is a staple in my house for almost every celebration! Christmas, Easter, birthdays, you name it! Even though the dish takes 50 minutes to bake, it can easily be prepared the day before and kept in the refrigerator.

In fact, I think the flavors taste better when they’ve had a day to meld together. Pop it in the oven right before Mom comes over, and you’ll have something delicious without taking time away from visiting.

Side Dishes

Cinnamon Coconut Fruit Salad

I think this fruit salad is the perfect side dish because it is fresh, slightly tropical, and super healthy. I like to look at pretty things with lots of color so I am assuming that other moms will appreciate the vibrant colors of this dish as well.

And if your kids have their hearts set on making you something special but they can’t quite be trusted in the kitchen yet, this might be something they can try their hand at.

Apple, Broccoli, & Horseradish Slaw

This slaw is phenomenal! It is pretty, crunchy, and a nice blend of pungent and sweet. The horseradish gives a little punch of flavor, but it isn’t overwhelming at all. This is also a great dish to mix up ahead of time and to serve cold right out of the fridge.

5 Minute Avocado & Cilantro Lime Dressing

Imagine the elation on your mom’s face when she finds out youĀ made your own dressing! And even if you are going to make this for yourself, you’ll still be amazed that you made something so tasty!Ā

It just takes 5 minutes and a food processor. Keep it in a mason jar or air-tight container for nearly 2 weeks, and you’ll have fresh, restaurant-quality dressing anytime you want it.

Treats

Mini Blueberry Peach Scones

These cheerful blueberry peach scones are super fun to serve at a brunch, tea, or special party because they come in miniature size. They are soft, moist, and made with yogurt rather than sour cream.

This is the perfect recipe if you want to branch out and try something new but aren’t feeling overly risky. Mom will be proud of your courage, and it won’t hurt to have some leftovers for breakfast in the morning!

Cinnamon Zucchini Bread

A delicious loaf of homemade bread always serves as a great gift because the recipient can enjoy the sweet treat over several days. This cinnamon zucchini bread recipe makes two loaves.

Give one to your mom and mother-in-law as a gift with a nice handwritten note (they love those no matter how old you are!) and save a trip to the Hallmark store. Or serve your mother one over tea and keep the rest for yourself!

Carrot & Raisin Cream Cheese Cupcakes

I personally do not know anyone who doesn’t like carrot cake. Do you? I am sure they are out there somewhere, but they’re hard to find because carrot cake is so moist and delicious! It has such a unique, unforgettable flavor!

And these cupcakes are even more scrumptious because of the homemade cream cheese frosting. If my kids weren’t so little, I would ask them to make me these cupcakes so I could munch on them for several days.

What My Mom Means to Me

This is my Mommy! I really wish I could spend Mother’s Day with her, but I will have to wait until later in the month when she comes out for a visit. I look up to her immensely, especially since having children of my own. She worked so tirelessly and poured out a tremendous amount of emotional energy into raising my sisters and me.

I always tell her that if I could grow up to be half the mother she is, I would be happy! She is so kind, merciful, loving, and self-sacrificing. She always listens to me, encourages me, and gives me godly advice. I am so thankful to have a built-in best friend.

However you are celebrating your mom, I hope these 9 easy recipes for Mother’s Day brunch will help ease your time in the kitchen. And if you are a mommy yourself, Happy Mother’s Day!

You deserve a big pat on the back for your endless dedication to your family and children. You are what helps the world go ’round! Without your efforts and sacrifices, our children would grow up without the love and security they need to thrive. Blessings to you all on your special day!
