They are bursting with flavor, and they’re a treat you don’t have to feel guilty about. Made with lime-infused Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, and my secret crunchy ingredient, they’re both refreshing and satisfying.

With their vibrant red, white, and blue layers, these patriotic lime yogurt parfaits are perfect for celebrating the 4th of July or any patriotic occasion. They’re easy to whip up, look beautiful on the table, and offer a healthy dessert option that everyone will enjoy.

How to Make Patriotic Lime Yogurt Parfaits

Creating these patriotic lime yogurt parfaits is easier than you might think! With just a few fresh ingredients and simple steps, you’ll have a delicious and picture-perfect treat ready in no time.

Step 1: Prepare the Lime-Infused Yogurt

Start with a 24 oz container of plain Greek yogurt as your base. You can choose regular or non-fat, depending on your preference. To sweeten it up, stir in 1/4 can of sweetened condensed milk (or about 1/4 cup). Mix well until it’s smooth and creamy. This will give your yogurt that perfect balance of sweetness while keeping it nice and thick.

Step 2: Add Lime Flavor

Take two small limes and zest them, being careful to only remove the green outer layer for the best flavor. Then, squeeze in the fresh lime juice and thoroughly mix it into the yogurt. Once combined, give it a quick taste test. It should have that sweet-tangy zing that makes these parfaits so irresistible. Adjust the lime juice or sweetened condensed milk if needed to suit your taste!

Step 3: Prep the Fruit and Secret Ingredient

Now chop up one and a half pounds of strawberries and pull out a 10 oz container of blueberries.

Lastly, for my secret ingredient, crush about 2 cups of pretzels. I like to add these to the yogurt parfaits because they add a crunch and a bit of salt. Salty sweet is one of my favorite combos!

Step 4: Assemble the Parfaits

Now begin the assembly of the yogurt parfaits. The layers should be as follows: yogurt, pretzels, strawberries, then blueberries. On the second layer, start with the pretzels instead of the yogurt. The pretzels help hold the yogurt in place. Otherwise, it drips down among the fruit, and the layers aren’t as pretty. Each layer of yogurt should only be 3-4 spoonfuls, so you should have enough for 4 small mason jar parfaits.

Step 5: Add the Finishing Touch

Once your layers are complete, it’s time to top off your patriotic lime yogurt parfaits with a sprinkle of extra fruit and crushed pretzels for a pop of color and crunch. This final touch makes them look beautiful while adding some texture to the all-important first bite.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you could swap the pretzels for granola or crushed graham crackers to mix things up. Either way, this step ensures your patriotic lime yogurt parfaits are as delicious as they are eye-catching!

Serve and Enjoy

One side note: these are best served right away or within an hour of preparing. If left too long, the pretzels get soggy and lose their crunch. But you can always leave the pretzels out and have this stunning snack waiting in the fridge for the kids. I pack them in my husband’s lunch.
